Mactan island
Cebu has always interested me as I've heared so many things about it, about its nice beaches and of the historical areas. Moreso, it is the biggest producers of one of Philippines' best treasures: mangoes. I believe the Philippines has the best mangoes in the world, and I am not basing it only from my own tastebuds but also from the feedbacks I get from non-Filipino people.

Anyways, I had a quick stay here, just only managed to spend overnight in Mactan island where one of the greatest battles in Philippine history happened. This is where the great Portugese explorer, Ferdinand Magellan was killed  by Lapu-Lapu, a Filipino, a datu (King) of
the natives. Ah yes, the Portugese luck had to run out at some point.

Ok, so at least I got another historical place from my history textbooks that I have seen. I actually liked the statue of Lapu-Lapu in Mactan. He looked very majestic.

So it was a quick stay at Cebu, but there's lots and lots to see in Cebu so I shall definitely go back here someday and next time, I'm gonna do it just right.
