Welcoming TBs in my town for the first time
June 21, 2008
My town Nagoya sucks. Located in the middle of Japan. Nothing excited, small, no night life, humid in the summer and hot.
Well even if so, people actually coming here to see the town.
I've never thought of showing my town to other TBs. But I did it!!!
I told Augustin (Le_parisien) to let me know if he comes to town. I could either help him out or showing the town. I haven't talked him for a while until I got a message from him a few days before he actually come to Nagoya.
We decided to meet up and text each other. We met up at Nagoya station in the evening. Augustin was traveling with his friend, Vincent. They were going to go to the hostel but I told them that hostel is closed since 2006. I wasn't 100% sure but that's what it says on the website. So the first thing they had to do was find a hotel instead. We went to several hotels around Nagoya station. OK,, all of them are either all booked or expensive. At the same time, I showed them what's in Nagoya station. haha
I know there are lots of hotels in downtown, Sakae so I took them there. The first one was all booked. The second one was expensive. Hmm.. where's next.? We found a tiny hotel and the price was pretty good so we went up to a reception and asked if they have a room for them. Yes, they had! YAAY! FINALLY! :)
Now, we are off to town. Went to Osu. It has a temple called, Osu kannon. Pretty famous one in Nagoya. We don't have many temples in the city. On the way to the temple, I wanted to eat something cuz i was a bit hungry :D We had a crape and some drinks for guys. The guy who was working there was so funny. He kept talking in Japanese and English to us. He asked them where are they from and they said 'France'. He started to say 'Je t'aime' a lot. I don't think he's a gay but he said many times that Augustin and Vincent were a bit confused. haha!! He was so funny!! Took some photos at the temple and went back to downtown, Sakae. Walked around TV tower, Oasis 21, and Central Park.
After some sightseeing in a tiny town, we headed to eat something. Well, I was hungry. haha! Went to a chiken place. My favorite izakaya. Chicken wings is really famous in Nagoya. It's a bit spicy but so yummy.
I guess they were so hugry and thirsty. Their drinks were gone in 2 seconds. lol!! And they ate SO FAST!!! A girl who was sitting next to Augustin was acting really girly girly. Too much for me.. holding a glass with both hands.. haha :D
They wanted to go to karaoke so we went to karaoke. We were there for only one hour but it was so much fun. These guys sing really well!!! I was impressed!! Got crazy and screamed. haha!!
Then we went to a bar. The one near karaoke was crowded (as usual) so went to the other one that i LOVE! It's on my review too, called 'My bar'. It was crowded but we didn't want to find other place so there were no seats for us but we decided to drink there. It was pretty loud (music was) so had to talk really loud. I killed my voice. It was REALLY fun to talk to this two french men. So fuuny, too. haha!!!
I found out three of us are the same age. Only a few months apart. I felt really comfortable to hang out with them. I think I lost my voice because of laughing too much plus karaoke. Or maybe that smoke in the bar..
Thank you guys for coming to Nagoya. See you in Paris :)
