Palermo, Italy

I did not spend much time in Palermo just passed through on my way to the Temple at Segesta and then back to Catania that is a good day trip to go and back again.  If I ever return to Sicily again I will most defiantly spend a few days in the Palermo area.

The few photos I did get are of the Santa Maria Assunta (Palermo Cathedral) this is one of the oldest Cathedral around originally built during the Roman times but first found in Arab records mention the existence of a large "pagan" temple present on this site when they conquered Palermo in 831.  Some photos inside I did not use a flash (to be respectful of worshipers) and needless to say they are blurred (no tripod).

Traffic in Palermo and streets were more confusing to me than the rest of Sicily and that made it harder to get around and find things, well at least for me that day.
