Bachelorette Party

Heather the bride to be!
My good friend Heather is getting married July 5th and so we had to have an awesome bachelorette party of course!

We started out the day meeting up and driving down to San Diego. Our good friends Robyn and Chrissy were kind enough to let us crash at their place, ensuring that we could stay up and party in style. We first went to Wine Steals wine bar for some tasty food, wine and a round or two of Apples to Apples. They have a pretty nice arrangement of tables and couches so you can easily chill with a few freinds. Luckily we were able to get a spot to seat all of us eventually. It can get kinda loud but it did cleared out a bit at 6pm when most people go to get dinner. We left full of wine, cheese, crackers, fruit and lovely meats and olives and headed over to our dinner show at Lips.
Drag dining at its finest!

Lips, "the ultimate in drag dining," is a restaurant and drag queen stage show. Only the MC did any real singing whereas everybody else just lip sang. They have a different theme for every night and Saturday was Glamor Girls night. Id love to see what Bitchy Bingo is like... or better yet 80's night. It was a pretty entertaining show and I was glad that they took the time to do brithdays and brides. As you can see from the pictures they wanted to make sure all the brides knew how to do some important oral work and so they were brought up to do a hands free shot.  The food was really pretty good and all the waitresses were hilarious.

Heather seemed to be properly tipsy and embarrassed so with mission accomplished we headed home for the night!

The Ultimate in Drag Dining!
This restaurant is unique as it is also a drag queen stage show where the waitresses are also the performers. Everybody danced and lip sang except for the hostess who actually sang. It was a pretty entertaining show and seemed very popular for birthdays and bachelorette parties. The food was really good and all the waitresses were downright hilarious. They have a different theme for every night and the night we went was Glamor Girls which meant big hair and big outfits. The Sunday morning brunch looks cool and I want to go back for Bitchy Bingo where they raise money for AIDS awareness.

Reservations are recommended, especially on the weekends.
Casual San Digo Wine Bar
The Hillcrest location of the San Diego wine bar 'Wine Steals' is tucked along University drive next to a gourmet cheese shop among other interesting shops and restaurants.

What makes Wine Steals stand out?

A comfortable casual place to take friends or dates and enjoy inexpensive wine by the glass, bottle or tasting sip is always welcome to any neighborhood. A large array of snacks (do try the gourmet chocolate plate!) and the newly added pizzas and paninis will keep you going through the large selection of wines. I cant get enough of of the cheese boards nor the daily selections of olives! If you are a real cheese aficionado then you can head next door to the gourmet cheese shop.

My only complaints are that it can get kind of loud inside and they need to expand their dessert wine section.
