Pre Bastille Day Party in Paris

Pre Bastille Day Group photo :)

So we get to Paris on July 13th, and after getting settled we head out for the pre-bastille day festivities in Bastille Square.  We all armed ourselves with our alcohol of choice, me with my Frangelico, Derek had his Jameson...There was some electro bands playing on stage but to be honest they all sucked.  Our group began to drink and dance, soon realizing that even though the square was packed, the french have backed off us and we had quite a lot of space... At one moment Derek broke out his Irish Dancing, and I started dancing the traditional russian dance, oh i hope there is no video of this lol.

For some reason, right when the clock struck midnight and it officially became Bastille Day, the party was OVER!  Everyone and I mean everyone dispersed, the cleaning trucks entered and all the heads turned to the right where a French man was getting beaten up by about 3 police officers.

Tongues and more Tongues
Derek and I already quite abit enibriated started running toward the action to get a better look, with our alcohol in hand, apparently while yelling "riot!"  Just as I get about 3m away from the man getting pummeled and jump on the nearest bench for a better look, another policeman starts swinging his batton violently at others telling them to back away, Derek and I quickly realize we should back off to safer waters.

So our party goes back to Lori's hotel room where more drinking ensues, which brings me to go and get some of the best Kebabs ever... Alot of alocohol later, Lori ends up drinking a bit too much and the following classic exchange occurs:

Bondy: "Lori are you okay?"

Me: "That is a stupid question"

Derek: "Do you want your Kebab?"

Now to alot of you the previous conversation doesn't make any sense, but to everyone in the room it was freaking hilarious :) We originally bought 2 Kebabs, and Ruby ended up eating the majority of both! Then later in the night, while Ruby played with the video portion of her camera, there was an impromptu MC Hammer Danceoff between me and Derek haha

More alcohol and more kebabs later, it was 6 am and time to get some sleep....

Budget Hotel near Bastille Square
I stayed here mainly because of the proximity to Bastille Square for Bastille Day. I first would like to point out whoever is the architect of this establishment should be shot lol… If you are staying in roomm104 EVERYTHING IS SLANTED!!! The walls, the beds, the outlet sockets are slanted, in order to get from the window to the door, around the beds, one has to straddle the walls spiderman style :) When sleeping on the beds you wake up and you are half off the bed because my room is slanted… hilarious :)
derekbilldaly says:
Just beware of the big hole on the balcony although it is the quickest way to the reception!!

Oh and the slanted table! Our research team(Ruby) tested out the balcony :) ASK FOR ROOM 104

derekbilldaly says:
Room 104 is definitely the best room in the hotel, it even has its own balcony/terrace which is also slanted!
Oh and dont forget the slanted picture on the wall!!
