This morning, I got up knowing that it is time to leave Stockholm and go to a new city, but at the same time was excited about seeing Bratislava.  I said goodbye to my many new friends and made my way to Bratislava early :) Martin met me at the airport and we made our way to his flat, he was nice enough to let me stay on his couch.  Now I don't remember much from my first 8.5 yrs in Ukraine, but looking out at the old communist style buildings and every one looked like they could have been my former home.  I again have perfect timing since Martin and a few of his friends were celebrating a birthday together on the day that I arrived :) And I was invited to the festivities!

It was a rather international gathering to say the least, people whos origins span the globe, from South America, to the UK, and other parts of Europe, but now have settled in Slovakia.

Even though most of the conversation was in Slovac I could understand a good portion of it, or atleast realize when they were talking about me haha... No seriously it was a very interesting experience to be around people speaking a language that is pretty close to my native tongue.  I have been to parties where I understood almost nothing so this was refreshing :)

As any Eastern European party goes, people DRINK ALOT! First, there was the birthday shot, then a few more, and I did try the local Borovicka :) The night continued with dancing, and more drinking.  It was a very good night, and a great experience, I LIKE BRATISLAVA :)

I loved the fact that even though people of Slovac might not have the same monetary possessions as other parts of the world or the buildings might not look as pretty asthetically, the people are full of life, enjoy every second and are very warm! Thanks Martin for inviting me to your party :)
