Beach
September 22, 2006
We met Joe for this part of the trip, and it was a good place to spend time in. We spent the days shopping, or on the beach, one day, on bikes...
We hired 4 tricycle type bikes, adult sized, so our knees weren't behind our ears, managing to get quite a way down the beach. We made it to Venice beach, where baywatch was filmed, and got the full 'avoiding people on roller-skates' experience. Any amount of 'cool' we might have had before we got the bikes was promptly lost on the bikes.

We found ourselves here a few times during our stay. Breakfast once,
and then drinks in the evening a couple of times. We sat out in the
front for breakfast, which was very nice, you can see people waling
past, enjoy the sun (well we did anyway) The evenings were good too,
we didn't eat (which looked ok) but drank instead. They had a good
selection of beers, including cider, which is my drink of choice. Prices seemed normal for America, and the service was good.

The hostel was clean, tiday and basically friendly. It did however lack an atmosphere, it's not like other hostels I have been too. I think it's more of a family place, i.e. alchol is not allowed inside the hostel. The location was great, right near the beach and 3rd street.
