With my one full day in Taman Negara, I set out early for some trekking. Still that early morning glow, I embarked on the trial toward the canopy walk and not 100 meters later came across a wild boar, just crossing in front of me. I took this as a sign of a good day and continued onward. The canopy walk was less stimulating. Due in part by the queue and the required spacing on the bridge, the walk took longer than expected and no wildlife was spotted.
On the way back, headed on this other trail for a quiet relaxing hike to a mini summet in the park. Only a few moments later, a guided walk enterted the vicinity and engulfed me like a gelatinous substance; I ended up trapped in the middle of this band.
After lunch, I got my things together, including torch, to set off on a 3.something kilometer hike to these caves and animal hides, estimated to take a little longer due to hills and such. Several small lizards and monitor lizards were spotted throughout the afternoon and early evening, as well as a porcupine. The caves may have been amazing, however, with no guide and the over-abundance of bats, I only managed to go in a few meters, I took a knee on the caves. The hides didn't offer the opportunity to spot any animals either.
The last hike of the evening was the one back up to the guesthouse.
