Weird Sheep Woman trying to Dance...

For those few that read my Spain story I think you will probably enjoy this little story.  It has it's own flare and humor...

We finally arrived at Charles De Gaul, and at first were praising the lord for our removal from all of the crazy and frustrating things that were happining in Spain.  After we get our bags we start to think through the next things we need to do.  "Lets see..., HMMMM, I guess we probably need a place to stay."  That would have of been a brilliant idea for us to get squared away in Spain while we were waiting for the flight, but of course we had our own priorities.  We Were Drinking Of Course!

So while Matt and Preston use the restroom, Kris and I wargame.  We finally walk into this kiosk for Disney Paris to ask the attendent a question about accomidations in Paris.

Daytime, Notre Dame
At the same time Prestom and Matt came out of the bathroom and Preston was very happy...

Sidenote: Preston is a Disney Fanatic.

I of course quickly kill Preston's enthusiastic response by telling him "There is no way in Hell we are going there."  He of course started laughing telling me that he didn't wat to go, but I knew what was in his heart and it had mouse ears.  While this is going on Kris is talking to the attendent who begins to laugh.  I ask "What is so funny, does she think we can't get a place to stay.  I mean this is Paris there has to be a million hotels!"  She then quickly points behind where a huge banner for the World Cup of Rugby is.  "S%#T!!!"  She laughs at my comments and asks to hold on for a second.

Inside the Musee D'Orsee
In a matter of minutes she has pulled off the impossible getting us a place to stay near Notre Dame, right next to Seine for about 30 euros a night per person, and it was nice.  She was our godsend and savior.  I wish I could remember her name.  We immediatly went out and hailed a cab...

This cab ride, due to the trends, and the positioning of the stars, was of course not going to be smooth sailing.  As we get around the area where the Seine and Notre Dame is we start making frequent stops with the Cab Driver getting out to talk to people.  "I hope were not on the clock..."  What I then find out from my french and his broken English is that he doesn't know where Rue De Facconeris.  GREAT!!!  This of course goes on for abut another 20 minutes when he finally has an epiphany and realizes or remembers where to go.

A view of the Sacre Couer from the Musee D'Orse.
Sounds like to me he just wanted to get paid more...  Who knows.  We get out at the front door of this quaint hostel and get shuffled inside.  The man at the front desk is very nice and takes carer of everything.  Ahhhh, Security...  Finally we are good to go, I think...

After we get our room, and change the only thing we can think of is getting drinks and eating.  So that is what we do...

We dance between a couple of bars along the Seine before settling on a restaurant that had a nice wine list.  We sit down and immediatly I order 2 bottles of wine.  There is no way 1 will last at a table with a group of guys.  The rest of dinner was fairly uneventful.

At the end Kris and I are interrogatting the waiter on places to go that wouldn't be "Sausage Parties.

Inside the Musee D'Orse
"  Sorry, were guys, and thats how we think...  The waiter tells us to check out this club named QUEEN on the Champs Elyse.  I protest "Alright dude, I guess you didn't here me clearly no SAUSAGE PARTIES."  The waiter continues to tell us that that is a big time club that has some serious parties.  That probably also means that it has exorbitantly priced drinks.  I was correct....

We get downtown on the Champs and walk around for a bit taking in the grandeur.  It is truly a beautiful spot of real estate in Paris.  "Alright guys lets check this place out..."  We head over to this club, and it was, to say the least, "GARISH."  After paying the 10 euro cover charge, which was crap, we head down into this new uncharted territory.

Is that the Eiffel Tower
I already want to leave before we get all the way into the place as the pumping base and noise penetrates my equilibrium.

Side Note:  I am more of a fan of bars, and more chill joints where I can actually carry on a conversation.  I'm not a fan of having my hearing stole from me in my twenties.

We get down, and it is actually is a pretty good party.  The french are rocking out to remixs of the Bengles, Pat Benatar, and Def Leopard.  To me it was very comical, but I guess that kind of music is popular here.  We head to the bar, and what do you know....  The drinks "SUCK ASS" and they are over priced.  But of course you must not have got enough money off me with the cover charge, HUH?  Preston and I laugh at this predicament.

I think that is the Eifel Tower

After about an hour of bad drinks and a walk down "Eighties Lane"  we decide to push on to something more our scene.

We hit one of the side streets and find a small "Swanky" bar which we stop in for a couple of cocktails befor pushing on to a new bar,\ that we only stumbled onto by chance.  We walk down stairs off of one of the side streets of Champs and enter my type of bar.  Totally my style; very "Feng Shui," crossed with French flare.  We head up to the bar grabs some drinkes and start chilling out.  I get into a conversation with the French girl next to me.  She works on English, and I work on my French, while Matt is chatting up the bartender.  We didn't really even realize the Preston and Kris rolled out.

Matt and I stayed there for another hour or two chatting with the Peeps we were talking to.

Greek Area near Notre Dame
We find out later that Preston and Kris while looking for another place to party stumbled into a "Gentlemens Club," which they said they immediatly left after paying exorbadantly high prices for drinks, but who really knows.  I know, I want the rest of that story too...

I learned on this night as I have on many others that you never know who you're going to meet, so be open to the new experiences, and I also learned that friends might lie if they are embarrased about someplace they went (J/K).  All in all it was a fun night which led into a crazy week in the "City of Lights."
