Eine Whopper Bitte!!!!
Howdy guys. Well, yesterday was kind of tough. Not only did I not sleep very much Saturday night, I probably had a combined total of 3 hours on my flights over. We landed at Berlin
Tegel Airport at 8am and got all of our stuff together and waited, and waited, and waited for everything to get sorted out with bus and train tickets. Trying to battle travel fatigue, jet-lag, and slight dehydration knowing that you can't sleep for another 7 hours kind of starts to take its toll, oh well. I got through it. Berlin is amazing though. I didnt take too many pictures yesterday but the ones I did I'll post sometime this evening. I got to see the Brandenburg gate, the Reichstag, and several of the old parts of Berlin. It's interesting to walk by the older buildings and see the scars of war from shrapnel and bullets in the stone. There is so much history here, but Germany has taken the rubble of the past and built a new city of steel and glass. It's absolutly astounding. We had lunch and dinner outside and had my first reall Cola-weisse (Coke and weisse beer), and sausage and sourkraut. The hostel we're staying at is decent. The bunk beds squeak with every tiny movement, and with 6 people in the room it got to be a little annoying. I survived the first night, more beer will probably have to be the solution to sleeping a bit better....oh such a rough life. Ok, well I'm going to finish breakfast and grab another cup of coffee before we meet at 9. Peace and Love - J
