Ok so on my travels again & now in New York for Feb 2008. Again…travelling by myself, getting the bus blah blah blah but its ok this cause I’ve done it before so I’m a pro! J I took all the precautions for the cold weather then. Now I had been told that New York winter is freezing and that I should wrap up. On my very first visit we went in Nov/Dec and it was mild but I’m Scottish so I’ve seen it all and felt it all before. Anyway, I wasn’t sure what to expect in Feb as when my parents went the last time in Feb there was inches and inches of snow and even a bit of ice fell on my mums head outside a restaurant (she was ok by the way J).

Unfortunately when I got there, there was no snow and it was cold but not what I was expecting. It did get colder because in some of my photos I’m wearing ear muffs. But I’m used to the cold like that in Scotland, although I wouldn’t wear ear muffs here cause ma pals would probably laugh at me!

So before I went I decided what I wanted to do that I hadn’t done before (you must have seen everything by now I hear you ask • but no I hadn’t) I hadn’t been in the American Museum of Natural History and a wee place called Serendipity • a restaurant / ice cream sundae place which was featured in the actual film Serendipity. (Anyone saw it? Kate Beckinsale and John Cusack??) So we went to the Planetarium before going into the museum and we went to a showing where on the audio track you have a movie star talking (we had Robert Redford) about the plant and different things.

So you sit in your seat and almost lie back and look into the ceiling • all the lights go out and ceiling changes into the solar system and for our talk Robert (hehe) was talking about how the moon was formed did you know it took 1 month for the moon to form???). It was the coolest experience EVER! I have actually been told they have this in the Glasgow Science centre, but it’s not the same - it’s better in NYC!!

To get into Serendipity there was an 1 hour wait, which I was told is normal for any day, so I was took on the tram over to Roosevelt Island, where they filmed Dark Water (Jennifer Connelly.. seen it??) we got off and then hopped back on again…by the time we’d done this about 40mins had pasted so we waited the rest in the restaurant. From the photos you can see the sundaes in Serendipity were huge!! My kinda place.

OMG! I forgot to mention I went on my own Sex and the City tour. Didn’t want my sister-in-law paying money for a tour when we could easily find the places ourselves…and we did... for free! Was on Carrie’s step and eating a cupcake out of one of their episodes! J I also brought my wee cat home a souvenir. Hehe. My adventures continue.......

We took the Sex and the City Tour in 2007. I had a great time--the only guy on a bus full of women drinking Cosmopolitans! The only problem was someone spray-painted graffiti on the stairs of Carrie's brownstone apartment that day and our camera fogged up from the air conditioning changes.

I also took Jenny to see the opening night premire at 12:01AM of the Sex and the City Movie last month and she saw it again (with me as the designated driver) less than 24 hours later. She's been to see it one more time since then, also with her friends.

I'll have to find the pics from the Sex and the City Tour in NYC for Jenny to post....after she finishes reading the book about the movie she bought in DC last week!
