New York Feb 2008

 

Ok so on my travels again & now in New York for Feb 2008. Again…travelling by myself, getting the bus blah blah blah but its ok this cause I’ve done it before so I’m a pro! J I took all the precautions for the cold weather then. Now I had been told that New York winter is freezing and that I should wrap up. On my very first visit we went in Nov/Dec and it was mild but I’m Scottish so I’ve seen it all and felt it all before. Anyway, I wasn’t sure what to expect in Feb as when my parents went the last time in Feb there was inches and inches of snow and even a bit of ice fell on my mums head outside a restaurant (she was ok by the way J).

Unfortunately when I got there, there was no snow and it was cold but not what I was expecting. It did get colder because in some of my photos I’m wearing ear muffs. But I’m used to the cold like that in Scotland, although I wouldn’t wear ear muffs here cause ma pals would probably laugh at me!

So before I went I decided what I wanted to do that I hadn’t done before (you must have seen everything by now I hear you ask • but no I hadn’t) I hadn’t been in the American Museum of Natural History and a wee place called Serendipity • a restaurant / ice cream sundae place which was featured in the actual film Serendipity. (Anyone saw it? Kate Beckinsale and John Cusack??) So we went to the Planetarium before going into the museum and we went to a showing where on the audio track you have a movie star talking (we had Robert Redford) about the plant and different things. So you sit in your seat and almost lie back and look into the ceiling • all the lights go out and ceiling changes into the solar system and for our talk Robert (hehe) was talking about how the moon was formed did you know it took 1 month for the moon to form???).
