New York Feb 2008
Ok so on my travels again & now in
So before I went I decided what I wanted to do that I hadn’t done before (you must have seen everything by now I hear you ask • but no I hadn’t) I hadn’t been in the American Museum of Natural History and a wee place called Serendipity • a restaurant / ice cream sundae place which was featured in the actual film Serendipity. (Anyone saw it? Kate Beckinsale and John Cusack??) So we went to the Planetarium before going into the museum and we went to a showing where on the audio track you have a movie star talking (we had Robert Redford) about the plant and different things. So you sit in your seat and almost lie back and look into the ceiling • all the lights go out and ceiling changes into the solar system and for our talk Robert (hehe) was talking about how the moon was formed did you know it took 1 month for the moon to form???).
It was the coolest experience EVER! I have actually been told they have this in the Glasgow Science centre, but it’s not the same • it’s better in NYC!!
To get into Serendipity there was an 1 hour wait, which I was told is normal for any day, so I was took on the tram over to Roosevelt Island, where they filmed Dark Water (Jennifer Connelly • seen it??) we got off and then hopped back on again…by the time we’d done this about 40mins had pasted so we waited the rest in the restaurant. From the photos you can see the sundaes in Serendipity were huge!! My kinda place.
OMG! I forgot to mention I went on my own Sex and the City tour. Didn’t want my sister-in-law paying money for a tour when we could easily find the places ourselves…and we did • for free! Was on Carrie’s step and eating a cupcake out of one of their episodes! J I also brought my wee cat home a souvenir. Hehe. My adventures continue.......
