So...I went to New York all by myself to visit my brother. It was great. Got my early flight and it transferred at Birmingham which was strange, me being me though - I walked past my luggage and past security, when I realized what I had done security wouldn’t let me back through L. The reason I walked past it was because the place was soo small – honestly! I thought surely there are more places for your bags to come out. So had to go to a desk (bear in mind I need to check in for my flight in NY) and explain the situation – they took my ticket and I had to wait till everyone else had collected their luggage. Luckily, on the same flight as me there was a family of 5 and the dad took my under their wing so when he saw me standing waiting for my bags he stood with me. I was petrified I wouldn’t make check in.
Luckily I did and everything went almost smoothly after.

Waiting to get on the plane to NY and I’m told my seat hasn’t been allocated to me yet, so I am literally the last person o the place – I hate that!! I like to get myself settled L
After that, it was plain sailing…the scary part was no one meeting me at the other end and having to get a bus into Manhattan and meet my brother at Grand Central station. So I done all the big things I hadn’t done the first time I was there (in 2000) like the Rockefeller Centre (In my opinion better than the Empire State, although Empire is still a must) the reason I say that is the Rockefeller centre gives you a tremendous view of central park and everything else. The Empire Stat Building is right in the middle of everything, so all you’re seeing is buildings. Also went to the Central Park zoo – I love zoo so I was in my element!! Done the obvious – like shopping and getting a hot dog in Central. Every time I have gone to NY, I’ve made it a rule to myself to get a hot dog from a vendor in central park…I done it again this year when I went in Feb.
I stayed for a long weekend and left on 4th July, which was great because the airport wasn’t that busy and I still got to see the firework and all that. So on walking to my terminal in Newark, I was really glad to hear the Scottish accent. J
