Belfast is a ghost town on Sundays!

Seeing as this hostel sucked and they never even told us what time check-out was we decided to just sleep in and not set an alarm and get up when we felt like it. We woke around 10ish I think and then just started to pack up our stuff to leave. They had storage for bags so that was nice and we left them there and headed to the city centre in search of breakfast and really just because we didn’t have anything else to do.
We found the place where we have to catch our trains to the airport, I am going to Belfast City Airport and Danny is flying out of Belfast International airport. There was also this little place that was serving breakfast so we decided to get something there. But then I didn’t feel like anything there as it looked kind of old and really greasy so I just had a coffee.
After we walked back to that main road with all the shops. We came across a Belfast Big Bus tour and we were thinking of doing that as we had enough time to do the whole loop before we had to leave and its hop o hop off but then if we did it we wouldn’t be able to get off at any of the stops so we decided not too. The main shopping road was so DEAD! There was nobody around and no cars or anything. I mean yes it was a Sunday morning but it was about 12pm! All the stores opened at 1pm or 2pm. So we got pretty bored pretty fast just walking around looking at nothing so we decided to head back to the hostel.
We stopped off at McDonalds again and I got something to eat. I wanted McDonalds breakfast but they stopped serving it L.
We left around 3ish to head to the Europa hotel to catch our buses. Luckily my bus was only a pound 20 so that was sweet. I got to the airport really really early and I had to wait a while before I could even check in. So that was pretty boring but oh well. I was coughing lots and lots and these people gave me some strepsils which was really nice of them. Turns out they are Canadian as well so I chatted with them for a good while until it was time to check in. Oh and they were on the same flight as me back to London.
Check in was fine, there was a really hot guy standing behind me so that was some nice eye candy hehe. The line for security was ridiculous!! It was SO long. It went all outside the queue and then it wrapped around and went around the Costa coffee place. Crazy! I was in line for a good 30-40 minutes before going through. I forgot to take off my belt so the little magnet thingy went off which made the lady totally have to feel me up and use the hand help metal detector and then she had to look in my shoes etc etc. What a process! On the other side of security I just had to sit and wait. Boring.
Finally we got called to board the plane. I sat myself by a really attractive man but then saw he had a ring on his left hand. Ah oh well. And I just so happened to be behind the two Canadians. The flight was really good. No turbulence or anything and the landing was really good surprisingly for Ryan Air. At Stanstead we didn’t have to go through immigration as we came from Northern Ireland and I just got my bag and headed for the Stanstead Express. Turns out you get a discount with the rail card so it only cost me 11 pounds instead of 16 which was sweet.
So that’s our fun filled weekend in Ireland...well maybe not fun filled in Belfast but we still had a great time and I think Danny enjoyed his birthday.
