The Maverick

So things surprisingly went  like clockwork Saturday morning and we ended up pulling into Cedar Points parking lot right at noon like I planned.  Only bad thing is for some reason Koby was wearing jeans, dress shoes and a long sleeve shirt!  He insisted he would be fine (One hour later he was drenched in sweat and ditching the shirt)!  Anyway,  Cedar Point is great to me.  Which is strange, because I am the most impatient person on the planet, but yet don't mind waiting in line for 2 hours for a ride that lasts 1 minute.  I had thought the lines would be bad today since school just let out, but it was not bad at all.  I think the longest we waited in line was 1 1/2 hours for the Millennium Force.

We didn't ride anything twice this year, sadly we didn't really have time for that, but we did ride some new things.

The first hill on the Millennium Force
We rode MaxAir, SkyHawk and the Wicked Twister.  These aren't new rides this year, but I have never ridden them before.  They were all pretty fun, but very similar rides to me.  The Maverick was not in service for most of the day, but before leaving we walked back to check on it and surprise...it was operating!  So we waited for an hour and rode it and I think it has replaced the Millennium Force as my favorite ride.  We rode the Maverick last year too, but last year we waited almost three hours for it, so it didn't seem worth it.  Something I dislike about the Maverick is the horrible music they play while you wait in line.  They play some horrible horrible noise...I think it's instrumental country.
Ridin' on the train
The wait for the Millennium Force is at least entertaining because there is a deejay playing the greatest hits from the 80's and 90's,  even the Magnum has a deejay booth (though I haven't seen a dj in it since about 2000)!  So waiting in line for the Maverick I was forced to just talk about people.  I always ride the Magnum and the Millenium Force at night, but my long day had caught up with me by 9pm and the prospect of waiting in line for another 1 1/2 hours made me want to just curl up and sleep right there.  So we left... I have never left Cedar Point so early - I must really be getting old!  But on a bright spot we did ride all the rides I wanted to and I didn't even torture myself by riding the Mean Streak which I hate, but always seem to ride anyway!

I've realized you can help me with a problem I have. I have a horrible debilitating fear of roller coasters. Trinity loves them, and she is now 50 inches tall...the number I've been dreading. If you go to an amusement park with us, I swear to god I won't wear jeans.
