The following morning we got up early to catch our ferry to krabi, and to say our goodbyes to the owners. Our lovely hosts had also made us our favourite Banana pancakes (for free!!). When the tuk tuk arrived we jumped in and they waved goodbye until we were out of view, even holding up a cat and making it wave goodbye too... The folks at Tabeak View Point Bungalows have been the nicest people we have met (so far), Thailand is a beautiful country - the land of smiles for sure, but to tell the truth, behind the smiles are people trying to get as much money from the tourists as possible. Gets a bit annoying at times... Anywho!!
After a 45 minutes boat ride we were in Krabi - there was no tuk tuks at the ferry so we asked a guy in a ute for a lift to Krabi town. He said sure - 50 baht each. The price turned out to be 150baht each at the end of the journey... hmmm - we weren't too impressed with that, and he didn't even drop us at our accommodation!!
Once there we were met by a Chines woman who tried to get us to do tours for " very cheap prices" we said no thanks and dropped our bags off and went for a walk around the town. Not much to do there really so we got some more books had a feed and looked around the same old shop selling t shirts and sourvinors. we stayed two nights. One the last day we asked for a mini van to Ko Lanta - she said " yes, you good guests, I give you discount, normally 300 baht each but I give you 250 each, Wow thats we said. We later found out that the trip costs 250 each. Lying bitch.
Mini van to Ko lanta took 3 hours and two small ferry crossings. Our hotel "Lanta Island Resort" looked very dodgy from the road, we later found out that thats were the staff stay and our rooms was closer to the beach and restraunt. The beach is very nice - golden sand and we have had lots of hot weather with thunder storms at night to cool you down. We have been here 5 nights.
