The George is a pub and nightclub on South Great Georges Street and is the oldest and most well known gay establishment in Ireland and probably Europe since it first opened in 1985, a good enough persuasion for me to visit! Me, Lori and Mike went for drinks first at Fitzsimons and then a gay bar called The Front Lounge before heading onto the George, its free to get in before 10pm and 10euros after that, we got there about 10.15 so we had to pay unfortunately (thanks Helen i love you long time !)
Now this place was PACKED! yay for me haha! now for some strange reason I got some attention from quite a few guys haha which was very nice and i wont dare reveal any naughtiness! Im classy (dont laugh!), we had such a fun night here, they played some really cool music and theres gays everywhere = HEAVEN!!! we left about 2.30am all pretty sloshed except for Mike and Helen bought me some chinese food which ws even tastier at such a late hour, Helen I love you so much!!! and we saw her off in a taxi and we headed back to the hostel, i had such a wonderful night and was lucky to have spent it with 3 great friends who i all met on TravBuddy!

The Front Lounge
The Front Lounge is a gay friendly bar that Helen took me, Lori and Mike to on our friday night in Dublin. As I was a little tipsy when we got here I thought Helen said it was called The Forum Lounge haha, it was so funny, we all got asked for ID by the security guys and he said to Helen 'Oh i dont need to see yours!' which made us all laugh ! Helen is a TravBuddy we met up with (www.travbuddy.com/witch_way) we decided to stop here to have a drink. They dont sell alcopops so we had a malibu and coke (haha Helen!!) and then we moved up to the other section of the bar where they play music, sooooooooo loud but some funking tunes!!! Madonna!!!!! LOVE IT! I bought a glass of wine which cost me 5euro 50 which is the cheapest drink I actually bought on the whole Ireland trip! and I kept smiling at this really cute guy and he kept smiling back but then i saw him picking his nose in front of everyone !!!!!!! eughhhhhhhhhhhhh disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but apart from that we spent about half an hour here and i really enjoyed it, its good to people watch here, lots of eye candy, good drinks and fun times with friends which is all i look for on a night out and was found in The Front Lounge! check it out if you're in Dublin!

Guinness Storehouse, Dublin
now the idea of spending an afternoon in the Guinness factory doesnt really sound like fun to me but oh my was I proved wrong! The Guinness Storehouse is located in the heart of the St. James's Gate Brewery in Dublin, and is Ireland’s No. 1 international visitor attraction. It first opened in November 2000 and has attracted over 4 million visitors since! Thats almost the whole population of Ireland!!
The Storehouse is laid out over seven floors surrounding a glass atrium taking the shape of a pint of Guinness. On the ground floor the massive exhibit introduces you to the four ingredients; water, barley, hops and yeast, all of which combine together to make a pint of Guinness. The history is written on the walls of each floor and is surprisingly very very interesting!
Arthur Guinness was born in 1725 near Dublin in the town of Celbridge, county Kildare where his father, Richard Guinness, was a Land Steward. The brewing industry in Dublin at that date was suffering because English beer was taxed less severely than the home-produced product. Arthur decided to acquire what was then a small, disused and ill-equipped brewery at St James's Gate.
A 9,000 year (9,000 years ! jeez amazing!) lease was signed on 31 December 1759, and the brewing, of ale initially, began. By the 1770s Arthur decided to brew Porter, a popular export from London. When he died in 1803, he left a fortune of £23,000 and his family would go on to develop the business in his name.
It shows how commited and passionate Arthur Guinness was and it comes across in the building, the exhibits and in the drink! A truly wonderful place to visit! all other information can be found on their website: http://www.guinness-storehouse.com/
I hope you get a chance to visit, you wont regret it!
