You have to see the Petronas!

When I was a kid, my favourite tome from our children's encyclopedia was titled 'journey to the cities of the world'. I am now 28 years old. I quit my job 3 days ago and decided to realise one of my childhood dreams. To see the world.

You have to see the Petronas!

Next stop Malaysia. After 24 hours of planes, airports and more planes we reach Kuala Lumpur, which translates to muddy estuary! The city immediately makes an impression, especially to travelers arriving from the subcontinent. Leaving the aiport in the express train you are surrounded by palm trees, whereas in the distance the city skyline emerges with a clear view of the dominating petronas towers. Kuala Lumpur is an interesting mix. It is high-tech, clean in some parts, dirty and crowded in others. The streets are wide, the buildings are high, some women wear burkas, others are revealing a lot more. There are SUV's, steakhouses, cafes, food stalls, flee markets and a lot of electronics shops. And then, there are the petronas towers. Quite an exciting place.

Next stop, the perhentians!
