Prague, Czech Republic
This was a great place to visit for three days. If you get past the grafitti on most of the buildings and structures there (courtesy of some of the very artistic czech youth) and focus on just the old structures of what makes Prague as well as some of the shows, places to eat and shop, you will enjoy it there.
Prague Tours offers "The Grand Tour" which is roughly a 6 hour tour. The guide we had for tour was very good. Her name was Nina. She was very informative and had a humorous wit about her which made the tour entertaining. We started off at Wenceslas square and walked to various areas of Prague taking pictures while being educated on the history of certain buildings, structures, and statues. We then got on the riverboat tour portion of the trip and proceed up and down the the river looking viewing the scenery while drinking a pint of beer and listening to Nina point to several buildings and structures of interests and describing them.
After our one hour boat ride, the tour continued on foot until we reached a restaurant called Vysmaty Zajic. A 3 course meal was served with your choice of drinks. This meal is included in your grand tour fee by the way.
After our meal, we continued on the tour by foot until after we crossed the famous Charles bridge. From the other side of the bridge we took a tram all the way up near the entrance of Prague Castle. We were guided through this enormous yet beautfully build castle. We did not see all of the castle during the tour because of its immense size, but we did get to see a good portion of it to include the cathedral.
Unfortunately, this is where the tour ends. Each of us had to fend for ourselves on getting back to where we intially started. Nina was helpful giving directions on how to take the tram back and finding other means of getting back. I wondered how she got back...perhaps her own car parked on the side of the road ready to go. Needless to say, some of us walked all the way back taking pictures along the way.
