Where's Our Effin Food?!?
June 14, 2009
For brunch (it was only a few minutes past 10AM when we left Talisay), we chose Leslie's Restaurant for their good food and spectacular views. Our driver was supposed to take us straight to Pagsanjan, but he didn't have a choice. We will see how long he can hold on to his patience, hehehe.
When we arrived at Leslie's, almost all the tables were occupied. We had to wait for the waiters to clear up one of the tables, which didn't help our famished stomach at all. By the time they're done, we're more than ready to order. But it was a busy day, apparently, which meant waiting for more than 30 friggen minutes for our food to be served.
Some of us (hi Matt) used the waiting time to catch up with some ZZZ's (right at the table), while the rest sat in agony, daydreaming of the food the we all knew and suspected was being cooked but deliberately held back to torture us. Like beggars, we were all looking in the direction of the kitchen, and whenever a waiter's tray was being laden with food, our faces lit up hoping that it's ours, but of course it wasn't, and we collectively released sigh after sigh of disappointment. Yeah, that's how bad it was.
Then, our food came! We felt so relieved and thankful that we clapped our hands! We're such a sorry bunch that day! As soon as the plates landed on the table, we started digging in. Plate after plate came, yet it was never too much for us. It must have been the most enjoyable meal we've ever had, hahaha! The next hour was spent just eating to our hearts' content.
Then, time for dessert! In true Leslie's fashion, we waited another lifetime for it to be served. I just couldn't be bothered with it, so I stood up and left the group to admire the scenery nearby. Another lifetime was spent waiting for the bill, and yet another waiting for the change. We were so glad to have a hearty meal, but even more glad to finally leave.
So, what's next for us? Starbucks! But the thought came in a little late, so we literally had to scream to the driver to turn back because we're already rolling. That pissed him off, but again, he didn't have a choice. After getting coffee, we went on our way again, but Aurelie had to use the toilet, and as we passed by a gas station, we had to scream to the driver to stop and turn around again. That really got on his nerves, and he did voice out his annoyance about our last-minute requests. Of course, it fell on deaf ears, nyahahaha!
Then, the van turned into one big snooze box. See you all in Pagsanjan!
