This post has actually nothing to do with Mr. Scissorhands, it was just the first thing that came to mind when punching in the blog's date ;)

The long weekend was almost over and it was time for us to head back home to Manila. But not before we had our free "Breakfast at Tiffany's." This of course turned out to be "Tapa at Macy's" instead. Their in-house restaurant downstairs doesn't even give you a choice. It's tapa or nothing, baby. Oh, and you can't exchange the coffee for tea or juice either. But hey, it's still food and it's free. I'll eat.

There was one more thing we had to do before going back to the urban jungle of Manila. We were saving all our bagnet and longganisa take-home shopping for this last day so we made a quick stop over back in Vigan where they had a shop that sold everything that we wanted to get.
I should've brought a baro't saya!
After making the trade, we headed for the town plaza since there was still time to kill.

Nothing too exciting really. I just completely missed the huge relief map of Vigan city right smack in the mddle of Plaza Salcedo! I had taken photos of the markers around the plaza but I didn't bother reading them at the time since it was high noon and I was sweating like a porker (I do this as a reference for later). It was only when I got home and read the inscriptions and wondered what "diorama" it was referring to. I didn't see anything and figured something like that would be hard to miss. It wasn't visible at all form where I was standing in the plaza. Dumbass, it was sooo huge, how could I totally miss it?! It was right there! And I only realized this after closer inspection of my photos, where I had apparently captured part of it. It's built on an elevated slab of cement enclosed by a short fence and can only be viewed up close. Although its base is painted burgundy, the relief map seems to be all white, making it even less noticable under the glare of the sun. At least for idiots like me. Arrrrr.....

And that was it. We boarded the next bus bound for Manila and made it safely home.
