The Astronomical clock

Prague Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

I can say that i never though that oneday i will visit Czech Republic. It was like a dream for me. Espacialy the Prague city is unbelieviable beautiful, historical, mysterious for me. I falled in love with old buildings, sculptures, statues. There a lot of them

The Astronomical clock

It is main square in Prague

Firstly i was not sure about my visa will i get it or now. It was unexecped surprise for me when i got it. I have been only two days in Prague after i had to go to the other city of Czech R. named Brno for my work. During my being in Prague i was exploring the city bu steps in order not pass anything interesting. Also i was looking on everything with big wonder and admiration. Cause everything that i saw i read and see only in books and internet. The Astronomical clock was impressied me a lot. I think it is masterpiece of theArchitecture. The clock was built by russian architect  many many years ago. Then the Netherlands people liked it and asked to architect to build the same in the Netherlands. But czechs didn’t want. They wanted it to be unique only in Czech R. Therefore czechs diceded to kill the arhitect. He was killed. It story wwas told to me by one turkish guide.

Excusse my poor english but i want to share my expressions and i will add more information as soon.

Hey ;) I'm really happy you had fun in Prague :) There is something I'd like to say about the Astronomical Clock though, about its history...your guide book seems a bit confused, or confusing? :) A number of fictitious legends relate to the clock. For a long time it was believed that it was built sometime around 1490 by a clockmaster Jan Ruze (Hanus) and his assistant Jakub Cech. It has been proved though that the Prague Astronomical Clock is older and that it was made in the year 1410. It was constructed by the clockmaker Mikulas of Kadan and Jan Ondrejuv, professor of mathematics and astronomy of Prague Charles University...at least that's what they teach out here in schools :) I have never heard anything about the Russian guy, it sounds weird, somehow...however, anything's possible :)
Love your pics!!!!! ;)
