Sunset at Epcot
We spent New Year's Day at Epcot! I was pretty excited about spending the day there because they had built some new rides since my last trip in 2003--Soarin' and Mission Mars. I did ride Mission Mars, which is a must if you like thrill rides, but not soarin'--the wait time was like 120 minutes!!! I was pretty bummed, but didn't think it'd be worth my time in line. Instead we shopped, and rode a few of the other rides. Afterwards, we headed over to the World Showcase. Although when I was a little kid I thought Epcot was boring, I've found that I really enjoy it as an adult--especially the World Showcase! The showcase offers a taste--literally--from countries all accross the world. You can explore Mexico within an Aztec Pyramid, Pagoda Huts in China, belly dancers in Morocco, a Belgian beer from Germany, and much, much more. Each country sells drinks, food, clothing, and other trinkets native to their country, all of which the average person has never experienced before. After dinner at Morocco--which was fabulous, by the way, we walked around the lake looking for a good place to see the fireworks. Every night at 9:30 Epcot puts on a wonderful
fireworks show called Illuminations: Reflections of Earth. The show is a moving spectacle of lights and music that are an absolute must see! It was pretty cold out that night, as you can see in our pictures. We had our hoodies all zipped up and were frickin' freezin'!!!
