A view of the Palace from Monte Carlo's harbor.
We started the morning with a nice breakast then on to Monte Carlo. We had passed it coming into Cannes so a stop here was required. We took in the harbor first. Prince Albert actually had his bobsled set up to do take off runs down the harborwalk. A strange site this close to water! We gazed at even more and larger yachets there. The sheer number boggled the mind. What fabulous wealth. We made our way to the casino, though not looking quite James Bond-like, I dropped a few coins in the slots (baccarrat eludes me). Having failed to make enough for one of the yachets in the harbor, we walked to the spot where Princess Grace had her accident. Moving on, we headed for the small town of Beauleiu. Dreamed of retiring there, then back to Cannes. We have a needed some real relaxation, so Darla and I down or swimsuits and headed for the Noga Hilton Cannes. Darla said this was where Meg Ryan had filmed "French Kiss" with Kevin Kline. We ordered two lounges, a bottle of champagne and kicked back. Yeah, that was the life. After we got toasted (sun, not champagne), we caught some dinner and made plans to catch the night train to Paris. Cannes had proven to be a great stop.
