After or overnight in from Raliegh, Darla and I hit the road running. We connected to the train to Victoria Station, threw or big packs into a locker and hit the street. Knowing where to catch the sightseeing bus from my last visit to London
in '89, we were quickly on or way. We saw al the usual sites: Big Ben, Westminster, the Tower of London and so on. Once we had made the curcuit, we headed to the Underground so darla could get a taste of that! Being a country girl from Texas, this was an adventure. We went out to Paddington
and caught the noon train to Salisbury
. We wanted to see Stonehenge firsthand. Just one of those landmarks of England you see as a kid and HAVE to do when you get the chance. We hopped the bus and proceeded out. Soon as we got to Salisbury it started to rain. The overcast clouds actually gave Stonehenge an other-wordly feel. This was the way it was supposed to look in our eyes. We both took plenty of pictures. From there we went to a place called Bishops Mill Tavern for lunch. After filling our bellies we then headed back to Salisbury to catch the train back to London then on to Dover
where we would overnight.
