The Cliffs of Moher
The Cliffs of Moher really are a sight that makes your jaw drop in awe. The cliffs are a wall of stone that stretch for about 8km of the western edge of the island. They rise up about 214 feet above the Atlantic, and seem as if God dropped his hammer right at the edge of the land, making a drastic seperation between the land and the sea. There really is no way to describe how you feel when you catch your first glimpse of the cliffs, except that your eyes widen in wonder, your jaw drops in amazement, and in awe you say to yourself "Oh, wow". Check out my pictures and see for yourself!
Parking at the cliffs cost about 8 euro, which is very reasonable; however, entering the site itself was free. We caught our first real glimpse of the cliffs as we began to hike up the hill and had to stop every 30 seconds to enjoy the view and take a few pictures so that we could share a bit of our experience with everyone at home . We walked around and explored the cliffs and O'Brien's tower. We didn't venture over to the highest part of the cliffs--Jim is afraid of heights, not to mention the killer wind gusts! Regardless, our adventure to the Cliffs of Moher gave us our first glimpse into how truly wonderful the island of Ireland could be!
