Marvellous Days in Cuzco

Peru is phenomenal! Every part of my trip was amazing, from my first passport stamp to my last night in Peru consisting of two hours of sleep.

Marvellous Days in Cuzco

Cuzco is a great place to visit in Peru. It is the second largest city, and is in close distance to many ruins and archeological sites. Tambomachay was one of my favorites, and Sacsayhuaman (pronounced, more or less, "Sexy woman") was nice.

Regurgitated Education: The 3 Inca Laws.

  2. Don't be lazy
  3. Don't lie
Simple and reasonable, no?

The change in altitude from Lima was quite difficult. Climbing stairs quickly became a hard task. I don't understand why the Incas liked high-altitude stairs so much...

If you're looking to experience Peruvian food, this is the restaurant to eat at. Every Peruvian food that I saw throughout my trip was served here. Appetizers, salads, meats and vegetarian courses, and desert. The chefs did an excellent job with the food, and the waiters delivered drinks in the way only waiters can.

There was great entertainment during the meal. It was very odd, but intriguing nevertheless. Some sort of traditional Peruvian dance. Then there was a band called "Arco Iris" that played. I got a CD, and I really like their music! Of course, there were good bands that played at almost every modestly sized restaurant, not just this one. Anyhow, Don Antonio is a great place to eat and experience something different than a cheeseburger.
This hotel is an amazing hotel, and the only thing I have against it is the orange juice it served. (Much of the orange juice here in Peru seems to have a sour taste to it). My first night in this hotel I had a room facing San Augustin street. I thought it would have been impossible to fall asleep there, but the crazy Peruvian drivers seem to give the horn a much needed break after the sun goes down. I had a cool little balcony, and the meals served in the restaurant were pretty good. Toast, eggs, yogurt. There was a bit of everything.

My second night in the hotel (a few days later) I was switched to a different room towards the back of the hotel. I watched spanish MTV and the BBC for a while...I think I got more channels in that hotel than I get at home!

Nothing to worry about at this hotel - there´s something to suite everyone´s needs, and the majority of the employees understand english! Although, I should warn you about the altitude; stairs have never been so hard to climb...

Hope you have a great time in Peru. It is amazing. We spent a month there last year and would go back in a heartbeat.
