I went to visit a friend who is studying in Boston and we decided to make a trip to Bahamas, Nassau. After that we back to Boston then head up to Niagara Falls, Canada. From there we went to Washington D.C. and after that to New York and from New York to back home to Finland..

Trip to Exuma islands!

Some where near Exuma islands.

We had booked a trip to one of the Exuma islands and bus came pick us up at 8am from our hotel. We went to Paradise Islands ferry terminal and there got on in a boat. It was one bumpy ride, but sun was shining and there was only deep blue ocean ahead of us. It was a great feeling! After like an hour we arrived on our destination, and it was one paradise on earth! Nobody lived there and there was only some little building with tables where we could eat. First words that our guide said that "Don't swim this side of a island, here are sharks and other predators!":D Well, we went to a another side of that island and it was just amazing! Blue lagoon, clear water and white sand.

After like an half an hour we went  to do some snorkeling. There was three different little reefs and I saw a little ray and couple of seastars and some conches.

It was great, but we had to leave early because we attracted some big rays. My friend also almost lost his camera, he dropped it somewhere and we looked it for awhile and didn't find it. But like 3minutes before we left one lady shouted that here is a camera, is somebody missing one? And my friend went to dive it up. After that we went back to the island and eat some chicken, watermelons, salads, bread.. And I drinked good pineapple juice! And after that, we went to throw our chicken bones and stuff to ocean and sharks came and eat it! There was one like 2,5m tall shark. And when I saw that almost imediately the tune of Jaws came to my mind:D

After that we went to a little walk and our guide told us something about the history of the islands.

The Beach
We climbed at the highest point and got some really nice pictures. After that we went to swim for a while and then was time to leave. But before heading back to Nassau we stopped on this little island where lives a lot of iguanas! We feeded them some grapes, we just put grapes in a stick and then iguana comes and ate it. It was a lot of fun. After that was time to head "home". I was so tired after getting back to hotel that I was almost ready to go to sleep right away. It was our last night at the Bahamas, but we were too tired to go to party. We just went to eat some local food and drink last Bahama Mamas, its by the way good drink! You should try it if you ever go to the Bahamas!

Paradise on Earth!
After an hour boat trip from Nassau we arrived on our paradise island! First our guide told us not so swim this side of island because we would end up in some beasts stomach:D So we went to other side and it was just amazing, blue water white sand lagoon.. Perfect! After a while we went to snorkle, there was three little corals and I saw little ray, starfishes, conches and lots of lots of fishes! After an about 45 minutes we headed back, but we stopped in this sandbar and just relaxed! After that we went back to the island and eated: chicken, watermelon, pasta etc. It was good! We through leftovers in the sea and the sharks came and eated it. There was at least four of them and one was almost 3m tall! Then we did a little walk around the island and after that we just swam a while. Then it was time to head back, but we stopped in this little island where was lots of iguanas and we feeded them some grapes. After that we headed back to Nassau.

Trip was great and nothing major complains but I expect little more. Food was great but really basic. Shark feeding was just throwing leftovers overboard and iguana feeding was only like 30 minutes. But it was trip to remember. And all the drinks was included in the price so that was nice, but there was one guy who was totally wasted and caused little trouble but not much. After all it was a great trip and I recommend it!
