This is the Midland Airways jet we are taking back to London.

Well here we are back at Edinburgh Airport.  This morning has been a trial. I have been nothing but a referee this morning.  All the boys are doing is bickering and fighting.  Somebody remind me why bringing them on a European vacation was a good idea!  We returned the rental car and took a shuttle from the hotel they operate out of, back to the airport.  We then checked in (that is kind of neat, they have a totally automated check in at a touch terminal.  We checked in for the flight, and then went to check in our large bags.  As we stood in line, an airline employee approached us and asked what time our flight was.  I told her and she told us we could not check in our bags until 2 hours before the flight.  So we had to go sit down and wait.  But there was no seating area in this part of the terminal.

Nothing like playing cards while waiting to check in.
So we found an open area and sat down and played cards.

We checked in our bags and went up to the gate…to wait.  The security check through here is very efficient.  We did not have to wait at all.  Well not at the security check point.  We now have to wait for our flight to board.  That will be in about an hour.  I guess it could be worse.

When we get to London (Heathrow) we will have to take the Tube back into the city.  This time we are not staying out by the airport, but in the city by the Tower Bridge.

He says he was faking it...but never fall asleep when dad has his camera. :)
Many people confuse this bridge for London Bridge. But London Bridge is a bit further down the Thames.  It is newer (the old one was sold to some people in either Nevada or Arizona…I don’t remember) and very non-descript.  We will take the Tube from the airport downtown, and then have to walk about 10 minutes to our hotel.  We will have to make at least one tube transfer before we reach our destination.  Hope fully there are no or not a lot of stairs before we get out on the street.  We have 4 nights in London before we return home.  As far as I am concerned we only have about 3 things we “have to see”.  The Tower of London (yet another castle), The Templar Round Church, and the London Eye.  We are also planning on going to a period dinner/show. Think Medieval Knights!  The boys have also express an interest in returning to Hamly’s Toy Store and the Queens Ice Bowl.  We will probably also go for a double decker bus ride around the city, and maybe side trip to Oxford and Picadilly Circus’.
