We have been staying in La Fortuna in a little hotel, which overlooks the Volcano Arenal, the town itself was lovely, and the nicest that i have seen so far.. including the beautiful Manuel Antonio, but thats a beach so hey.. We stayed 3nights, and did 3trips, the first was a trek and hike down the Rio Fortuna Waterfall, and what a amazing trip that is, the trek down itself is part adventure.. if you suffer from any heart problems, then becareful, and if you suffer from ashma, then take your inhaler, esp coming back up...

We then did the night lava tour, with trek into the volcano park, and added on hotsprings, this was great value, at only 12quid, it was worth every penny, you get to see more wildlife in the trek into the rainforrest, and also at the end of the tour, you get to see the lava flow down the side of the volcano, and once that has down, they take you to the hotsprings, where you can melt into a warm bath... tho dont forget your money!!! a coke costs 1,200colones!!!

The following day we went down Canyo Negra on a boat, this was ok, not out of this world great, but ok, we saw alligators and monkeys and river turtles, and lots of wild bird.. it had lunch and breakfast included, and was pricey at 22quid per person..

and today we took the jeep - boat - jeep to Monteverde, we are staying here for 2 nights, then heading down to the pacific coast again..
