Before we came to Panama city, we was told in Nicaragua by a very nice old lady from Costa rica, "Oh yeah, they dont like Americans in Panama" and told us a story about how two ppl she knew, got chucked out a taxi they were in for having a north american accent, they were from Canada, but this guy spat and screamed at them for being American. Well we have during our time over here, noticed that sometimes we get those looks, like "ugh gringas, americano" but after the usual, "donde vives" and once we say "England, londres" we get treated with the most welcoming voices and get told how much Americans are ruining the country, we have had this in both Costa rica and Nicaragua. But so far in Panama city, its been rotten looks, stares and evil eyes, not one person has asked where we are from, but you can guess that they think we are from the USA...
It makes me wish i did bring my bloody england football top with me, tho they are so cheap out here, that you can buy a vile Gooner top for under 25quid. and its not a fake, its real nike.
To be far we dont look american, hello english teeth!!
Well what i will say for Panama city is bloody hell its soooooooooo cheap, come here for the shopping, its outrageous, shoes for 79cent tops for $1.99. and branded goods all cheap as chips. We did the right thing to wait until we got into Panama city. And i still cant get over how cheap the internet is here, i mean 25p for a hour, you cant print out colour copys in england for 25p.
Hopefully we will do the Canal tommorrow, there is a museam and tour you can do, so that should be a days worth.
