Inka trail day 3, Pacaymayo,Puya Patamarka, Wiñay Huayna and the highest disco in the world.

Day 3 started at 6am, very very cold and still raining, one of those days you want a bath and listen to Dido on the CD player while drinking a cold glass of white wine, in my dreams, i had a mountain to climb.. We had breakfast and then started the hour up to  Pacaymayo, and amazingly me and liz did really well on this one, we got up in under a hour, and felt great, sadly the view was shit, too much cloud and mist, and lots of drizzle. It was another hour to the peak. we did it and then started the long trek down to Winay Huayna.  This was easy for us, we was good at the going down part.

We made it to the cloud fortress and had a short tour, then made our way to camp for lunch, it was only 35minutes from the cloud fortress but looked longer.

  Lunch was nice, mashed potatoes.  Then last climb was a hour and twenty minutes up, me and liz did it under a hour!! it was small climbs with mostly inka flat parts, this was by far the best bit of the trek, and the most prettiest. 

We got to the top and mae our way down to the bottom where camp was, tho the descent was tough, years of rain and treking had made the steps hard and slippy.  We did it in 2hours, passing other groups on the way down, these steps are simply outstanding.  We made it to camp and had a beer!! then dinner our last one together on the tour, we tipped our porters and guide and then  had the disco, all celbrating the trek was nearly over.  and tomorrow was machu Picchu.  We went to bed and had to get up at 4am.
