Matt's Leaving Do!

6pm Friday Night-Got home to my flat after work to meet Hannah so that she can drop off her bags at my house as she is staying the weekend and then we can get ready to go to Matt's leaving do at the River Bar near Tower Bridge. OMG it was so good to finally see Hannah again! I haven't seen here since the beginning of May when she left for her Contiki tour. We took a little bit longer than normal to get ready because we couldn't stop talking and we were eating crackers with hummous which is so good!

8pm-After the LONGEST tube journey ever we finally make it to Tower Hill station. Apparently a WW2 bomb has been found in White Chapel so all the tube lines are facing majour delays. We walked across the tower bridge which is amazing in it's self and took loads of pictures like proper tourists do.

We didn't actually know where the bar was but luckily it wasn't hard and we made it to the bar. We went downstairs where everyone was and gave Matt a huge hug! I am really sad that Matt is leaving, I have had so much fun partying with him the last couple of months. It was his huge party and I didn't even get to take a picture with him :(

There were loads of other travbuddies there...Matt (mattgtfour), Mike (globetrottingmike), John (londonstudent), Pat(horus380), Colin(I still don't know your travbuddy ID yet!), Louise (1morespicy), Nathan (nathan85), Ben (ben589), Ben (ben_brett_1111), Ben (smeeb20000), Warren (otto219), Ruby (2win), Hannah (hannah-lou), Tiffany (tiffibear24???), her friend Wendy, Matt ofcourse (mat-uk), and me...sorry if I am forgetting anyone but don't think I am!

So like any travbuddy get together the drinks started pouring.

Ruby and I had made a scrap book for Matt with all the London group pictures in it and we were getting everyone to sign it and write comments as well as write in the card that Louise bought. Smeeb Ben is new to travbuddy and is a potential for coming on our Spain/Portugal trip this summer so he decided to come down to London so that he could meet all the other travbuddies and me, Ruby, and Hannah who are going on the trip. I think we managed to convince him to come and hopefully he does!

After the first couple drinks and a few shots were in some people started to dance. I think it was Matt's (uk) little brother who was the star of the dance floor. Oh man could that kid dance. He was wicked good and had the best robot ever! I had fun dancing like an idiot with him until I realised that Louise was filming it!

We later realised that Ben589 and Wendy were getting a little cosy in the little side room so being the good friends that we are we burst in on them taking pictures! Then we realised that the little side room was pretty sweet so the rest of the travbuddy gang ended up partying in there for the majority of the night.

Everyone was having such a good time (well except for Nathan who was sulking cause he had a sore leg...hope it feels better!) taking pictures and chatting. This was the first time in quite a while that all of the London group had been together again and we knew it was gonna be a great night because they always are!

Eventually the bar had to shut and we all got the boot :( Matt-uk mentioned this bar across the bridge that should still be open so we started the trek across to Tower Bridge taking lots of goofy pics and having a good time. We were walking for quite some time and managed to make it to the bar just to find out it was closed! So like any travbuddy get together, we hung out in the street for a while contemplating what we could do next.

At thos point Louise had to go to the washroom and me and her set out for some random hotel to use their washroom. We asked the guy at the front desk where they were and he asked if were guests at the hotel. Obviously we said yes and then he asked us which room we were staying in....errmm 100??? I don't think he believed us but I was just like please she really needs to go to the washroom so he said only 1 of us could go so I sat in the lobby waiting lol. By time we went back outside everyone had gone except for Matt-uk and some of his family members. Matt said he was gonna wait with his family to catch a cab and then catch up with us later. I should have given him a hug goodbye because he never did catch up with him later and I don't think I am going to see him again. So gutted about this!!

Louise and I ran (actually ran) to catch up with the others and eventually did. Tiffany ended up catching a cab back to Warren's in Chelmsford which cost her £150!! Can't believe that! The rest of us were in search of a bar! So we walked, and we walked, and then we walked some more. I was actually having a great time just walking and having a laugh with everyone. Eventually we ened up in Shoreditch where there was a bar with a corner and we took a little break from the walking. For some reason and I don't know why Ruby had some balloons in her handbag....so we all got balloons and started having a fight with them!! It was so fun!!! I think I was being really annoying though and hitting everyone with them but oh well.

Oh and when we were walking we came across the craziest thing ever! There were these 2 tube carriages way up in the sky on top of a building and there were people in them!!! Why?? I don't really know but it was so weird and I thought it was some form of "art" or something and then when the guy that was hanging out started moving I was like wtf?? It was soo trippy...I have no idea why they were there.

Eventually we came across Liverpool station and we walked and walked and we decided to get food so now we were on a mission for somewhere to eat that was open really late or for 24 hours. Evetually Ben589 and Wendy caught a cab to go home and it was Warren, Louise, Ben Brett, Ben Smeeb, Mattgtfour, Hannah, Ruby, and me left. We came across this restaurant that was just closing and the guy told us that there was a 24 hour McDonalds at Liverpool street tube station just down the street.

..just down the street? We were there not too long ago? Turns out we did a 2 hour MASSIVE loop around Livepool Station lol. Anyways we all went to the McDonalds and got a nice dinner.

3am-So were still sitting outside McDonald's chatting and having a good time. Mattgtfour had to leave and said goodbye. I do remember he said we can party at his one night though...keeping you to that!! haha. It started to get a bit chilly outside so we all went inside. We had such a good time chatting about absolutley nothing and just having a laugh. Poor Hannah was asleep on my lap the whole time though, it was so cute! We all decided to just hang around until the tubes started running again at 5:30am. Louise had gotten a call earlier in the night saying that her sister was in labour and would have her baby soon so she was pretty excited about that.

She decided to leave around 5am to go home and catch some zzz's so she would be refreshed to go to the hospital in the morning.

5:45am Friday Night/Saturday morning-It got near the time when the tubes would open again and we were discussing what we should do. We were all planning on meeting up later that today and hanging out at a park so we were thinking should we just go to the park now?? Should we go home and get some sleep? Can we find another bar...? Earlier in the night we were talking about going to Brighton some time and Warren brought up the idea that we could go to Brighton now. We were all like, "Should we go to Brighton??"..."Let's go to BRIGHTON!!!!!!!!!!!" It was settled, we were going to Brighton RIGHT NOW!!!
