Trip to Finland, the first few days

My trip to Finland is in sort of a planning phase. Any comments to my first ideas are (more than) welcome.

Trip to Finland, the first few days

Leaving Holland by car on July 9, we arrived in Vordingborg, Denmark in the early evening. The Ore Strand Camping in Vordingborg is a nice small campingsite. Costs DKK 136 (€ 18,50) per night for 2 persons, tent and car. We travelled by ferry from Puttgarden to Rødby and bought a combination ticket, that includes the ferry from Helsingør to Helsingborg. In Sweden we drove along the E4. Driving on the highways in Sweden is a nice thing to do. There is much to be seen on your way. Toilets on the many parkings are modern and clean and the many signs along the road direct you to a campingsite easily. These signs led us to Lovsjöbadens Camping at Annaberg, some 50 km south of Jonköping. Costs SEK 175 (€ 18,60). The next day, July 11, we left for Grisslehamn to take the ferry to the Ă…land archipelago. We left Grisslehamn at 18:30 and because of the time difference arrived on Eckerö about 23:30. Not the best time to arrive on Ă…land, because you can't see anything of those beautiful islands and a place to sleep is hard to find. Costs € 34 for a return ticket Grisslehamn-Eckerö (car length under 6 meters).

Small ferries on Ă…land are free of charge, such as the one between Prästö and Töftö. For longer trips you can use the ferries from Ă…lands Linjen, either the northern route (Norrja Linjen) or the southern route (Södra Linjen). For either route you only pay € 20 for your car. There is no charge for bikes or persons. However, do NOT travel from one end harbour to another (for instance Hummelvik to Osnäs) on one day. For the northern route you should stay on Brändö for one night, or you will be charged for an additional € 67.
