ANIMALS LOOK BETTER IN NATURAL ENVIRONMENT- THIS ZOO IS HORRIFIC.ANIMALS ARE SICK AND NEED PROFWESIONAL VETERINARY CARE- WHICH ZOO DIRECTOR REFUSE TO GIVE .. ZOO DIRECTOR LIES AND IS CORRUPTED, HE AMKES PROFFIT ON THOSE ANIMALS AND HE USE THEM TO GAIN POWER & TRUST.

After viewing your site, I really would have liked to include a visit to your city on my tour.

It looks to be a beautiful city with so much history & culture.

So why I am saying "Not Belgrade" ?

One reason .. Belgrade Zoo.

I was appalled to see the archaic cages and  conditions that the animals are confined in. There is a similar set of cages in my local Zoo .. they're in the Museum section & are used to demonstrate how ignorant of animal behavior zoological gardens were 100 years ago.

So unfortunately I will not be visiting Belgrade, & I hope that other potential visitors take the same action until such time as the Belgrade Zoo issue is addressed.

If there are any immediate plans to demolish / improve the zoo, I would be glad to hear of them.

Ultimately, endangered species will only be saved by preserving their habitats and combating the reasons they are killed by people. Instead of patronizing zoos, it is better to support groups that work to preserve habitats. Nonprofit sanctuaries also deserve the public’s support. These sanctuaries rescue and care for exotic animals without selling or breeding them.
With informative television programming, educational opportunities on the Internet, and the relative ease of international travel, learning about or viewing animals in their natural habitats can be as simple as a flick of a switch or a hike up a mountain. The idea of keeping animals confined behind cage bars is obsolete.
