Another beach day on Isla Margarita.
June 22, 2008
Hello All,
I'm in the middle of 6 days here on Isla Margarita, and I've had no problem finding things to do. Today is going to be another 'do nothing' day. I headed out to the beach at about 11am, and chilled in a beach chair for quite a while. The beach was certainly packed on a Sunday afternoon. There seemed to be just as many locals and Venezuelans as the were foreign tourists, and it was a very happy scene.
After a while I abandoned my seat and played in the sand for a while. I know that I am 41, but I cannot resist playing in the sand. I made a very nice little bay surrounded by a nice wall. It was about two meters long by a meter wide, and the waves actually washed in a little fish to swim around in it.
I should have at leastmade an attempt to put some sunscreen on, but I figured that I would be ok. I was exposed for about an hour before I put my shirt back on, and I did end up a little pink on my back. Hopefully it will not be too bad. On the way back to the hotel I picked up some snacks, and checked into the prices for renting a scooter tomorrow. It was very cheap at only 10 BsF per hour or 80 BsF a day. I told them I would be back tomorrow.
I fell asleep pretty early watching the IndyCar race from Iowa on my laptop.
Later, Phil
