Biggest and best rooms in town
The Best Western in Wendover possibly has the best accomodations in town. The rooms are large and spacious with a king bed, couch, fridge and microwave. Each room also has a big window that faces the rocky hills behind the hotel - a great view! The rooms are big and open and perfect for extended stays and even short ones!
The pool outside has a nice lounge area even though the water is pretty cold. The indoor hot tub is not super hot and they have a sauna that I haven't tried yet. Breakfast in the lobby is a simple continental breakfast with cereal, toast and hard boiled eggs. Laundry facilities are available.
The hotel is owned and operated by a nice family but the cleaning schedule is a little different than most hotels. If you want your room cleaned, you let them know at the front desk on your way out. A little different but I like it.
Don't plan on sleeping well if it is windy, which is just about every other night. The wind howls through the hills and pummels the building, rattling the windows. It can be very loud, but you get used to it. Another thing is that the interstate is not far away, in fact you can see it from some rooms, but the traffic is light and not very noisy.
For such a small town, Wendover has a lot of activity on weekends and rooms can be hard to come by. Might want to call ahead.
