An introduction to the city
June 5, 2008
Montreal is a city.
Montreal is also an island,
Trapped in the south waters of the St-Lawrence River.
366,4 km2.
1,620,93 inhabitants.
19 urban districts.
68 metro stations.
1 ice-hockey team!
1 useless Olympic Stadium!
Numerous people from everywhere helping to make Montreal a most diverse city to explore!
For informations about what to visit, where to eat, what exhibitions to see, what festivals to go to, etc.

I grew up in Montreal and will always come back to Montreal.
Might have the bug of travels but still feel privilege to have this city in my blood.
I am Montreal!
Very ecclectic, very american but also, some memories of Europe.
Pretty young in the History of the World.
Founded in 1642 by Sieur Paul de Chomedey de Maisonneuve.
Was inhabited by Native American long time ago.
Now shared between people from all over the world!
Based in a strategic opening into America.
An "incontournable" place to understand the growth of a continent, the development of a new civilization!
________________________________________________________________________________________
Metis population.
All religions represented.
Ancient (well, for us!) and modern architecture next to each other.
An example of how the world should be.
Diversity of food.
Diversity of people.
Diversity of sceneries.
Diversity of ideas.

Make sure to add Montreal on your travel list!
Either white (and grey!) in winter
or
green and colourful in summer
any time is a good time
to come visit us!
Great nightlife,
But also plenty of wonderful parks to simply relax.
Bienvenue au Quebec!!!
Please note:
One day is not enough to show you Montreal in pictures
so I will keep adding, now and then, more pix
in order for you to get a rough idea of what awaits here to be explored
by you, curious traveller from all over!
