Can anyone give me insight on working abroad?  i want to do something career related.   Although I found several orgs that offer internships, I have recently looked into volunteering abroad in Accra, Ghana for video production or media.  Specifically, two programs that have stood out are travellersworldwide and gapsports.  One concern is that they are UK companies and therefore the clientele is more geared toward British travellers.  Another concern is the expense.  Does anyone have any advice regarding any of the following: 1) opportunities to get experience in media anywhere in the world 2)using a program such as: i-to-i, travellersworldwide, gapsports, or globaleyesworld 3)  working/volunteering in Ghana 4) any other avenues i could take.  I need some sort of structure, as i\'m not totally confident traveling w/o a placement set in place.  However, i want to be as immersed into the culture of another country as best as possible (preferably not pre-arranged housing w/ other travellers in the same program) as well as an extended stay that i would be able to finance for about 3 months (total sum of program fees, accomodation, food, expenses, plane fare, insurance, work visa = $5,000-$8,000 US dollars)

hey, i went to ghana in 2004 with teaching and projects abroad, i had a great time btut they were quite expensive. since finishing uni i also want to work abroad in a career related placement.i returned in 2005/2006 to stay with a family there i became friends now going again in january with working in journalism-they send you on a course at a ournalism institute and you do very hands on practical work with other journlaist-you can also work in radio, print media, tv media with them. for 2months in ghana and 1month in india its costing me £2,500-flights not included-book now and they'll be cheap quite familiar with ghana and have a few contacts over there that im in regular touch with, so if you have any questions just ask! xx

I volunteered in Ghana for 12 weeks last summer through Cross Cultural Solutions. Let me know if you have any questions about the program or the country!
