In my opinion Tasmania is one of the best islands in the word. Why? Because it has magnificent landscape protected by World Heritage listing, spectacular waterways, peaks, beaches, fauna, a lot of animals (specially kangaroos), bridges, etc, and you can visit all the island in only 5 or 7 days.

You can lodge in many backpackers and the rates are very low, for example 10 euros per night. If you prefer you can stay in a hotel you will pay over 25-30 for a 3* one. Restaurants are also very good and cheap, specially mussels from Tasmania.

Be careful with the weather because almost all the year is cold except in summer time (January and February). I went in July and I found snow at the top of the mountains. If you are lucky maybe you can sky in some snowy year.

Landscape is spectacular, wild and green coast. I recommend you to do trek and explore everything. Don´t forget to visit Port Arthur (jail).
