One week exploring all the things to do in and around Sacramento, CA.

Mayflower Park

Didn't get any time last week to update blogs, so I'm just catching up now. Well, to make a long story short, landed up at the Mayflower Park hotel. Had this long list of all the things to do in Sacramento that I mentioned in my last post, so didn't have much time to really explore the hotel and talk to people and find out the little details, but here's a broad description.

The hotel is situated in the retail district, close to Pike Place Market and is connected to the swanky Westlake Center shopping plaza. Macy's, Nordstrom, the Seattle waterfront and other major points of interest are ideally bunched in close to the hotel. The hotel itself seems to take itself quite seriously, and its all grand and decked up and pompous, with chandeliers and a distinctly European touch. It seems it has quite a bit of history and its actually a restoration decor (not that this makes it any less pompous, but still, its better than if this were original). Anyway, its all shiny and impeccably maintained, and they talk real nice.

The rooms and furnishings, same as the hotel, are more classical than modern. But come equipped with the latest gizmos and gadgets - Complimentary wireless internet, airconditioning with individual climate control, a large screen TV, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron & ironing board, etc. There's also a neat fitness center at the hotel equipped with lots of exercise equipment which I haven't ever seen before. The Concierge can get you pretty much anything you want, and room service is prompt. The hotel offers valet parking and laundry service.
