Serendra
I missed my friends from Alliance Francaise. It's been an ice age and a half since I last saw them. Of course, we have each other's numbers and we all live not very far from one another, so one would think that it's not THAT difficult to get together. But somehow, we get caught up in our daily routines - me with my job, Crystal with school and modelling, and Mansy with her senior year in college. The rest of the classmates are just plain busy with something, don't know with what or where.
So, a get-together is always pushed back to whenever everyone's available. Don't that always happen? So, one day, we just decided to meet up in Makati, just like that. Whoever can make it. Those who can't, boo. Lesson: Don't plan it, just do it!!! Anyway, we met up at around 3PM in Greenbelt, then proceeded to Serendra to try any one of the restaurants there.
We chose Balducci, an Italian resto. Kinda pricey. Burns a hole in one's pocket, or in my case, credit card. But hey, we haven't seen each other for a long time, so might as well splurge!
While waiting for the food, we had a good time sharing stories and catching up, talking about everything except French. It was just appropriate I guess, since we're in an Italian resto... Anyway, after a nice time together over a not-so-nice food, we unleashed our inner cam-whores and took tons of silly pics, some of which cannot be posted anywhere not because they're raunchy or something, but rather, just a waste of time to post and a waste of cyber-space. In short, I'm feeling too lazy :D
We decided to go our separate ways around 5PM, since I still needed to go to work at 10 and Crystal needed to go to a photoshoot. Mansy, on the other hand, had nothing to do but didn't have the choice but go because Crystal and I were. Then it struck me: it's still early, so I could still see a movie! Crystal liked the idea, but Mansy couldn't join because she needed to be home before 8PM. So, we asked to be dropped off at the Shangri-La Mall, looked up the screening schedules, and saw that none can be finished before 9:30 which should be the time for me to head to work. So Crystal and I just hang out at Starbucks before saying our good-bye's at around 8.
So there goes our brief rendez-vous. Sometimes I ask myself why we (me and my Alliance classmates) became friends in the first place. Maybe because aside from being crazy, we all have one thing in common: We suck at French!!! :D

Therefore, you might find this joke of a review useless and a waste of time. But then again, you wouldn't have known it's useless until you've finished reading this, so the joke's on YOU. Bwahahaha!!! :P

REVIEW: I've always considered myself a fan of Italian cuisine. But after eating in this restaurant, I kinda started having doubts about myself. I mean, do I really know how good Italian food's supposed to look and taste? I mean, I've never been to Italy, and I don't know any Italian! :D
All I can say is, for the price, the food was so-so. I don't know if it's just the food I ordered, or everyting in there sucks. The appetizer was good, but the main course was overkill. And the dessert was too sweet. Our fault for ordering that particular dessert, I guess. Don't they have anything salty for dessert?!? :D
The service, however, was uhmmm... thinking of an elegant-sounding word here... ah that's it! SUPERB! The waiters were really attentive to the customers' needs, they were nice and polite, and best of all, they were more than happy to be living tripods and take some pics for us!
Anyway, I only tried it once, so who knows? Maybe I'd be more satisfied next time. Or maybe I should just stick to pizza and fetuccini. Shakey's, anyone?
All in all, a pleasant experience. Especially the picture-taking part. Duh.
