A walk along the beach
I just wanted to wander today, it’s a shame VOG was covering the sky. VOG is a blend of two words, volcanic and smog. Normally the trade winds prevent the VOG from making its way from the Big Island where Kilauea emits an estimated 2,000 tons of vog every day, but weather patterns brought the VOG in our direction, so the photos over the next few days are not as bright and sunny as they could have been.
I still had a wonderful day; first stop was Duke’s lane and a little market, then through the international market place where most vendors were still to set up and on to the beach where the VOG cover didn’t prevent the beach lovers from stopping by.
Mel and I met back up for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory, where I enjoyed a fantastic Luau salad, a peach Bellini and a delicious piece of cheesecake.
(Check out the review - yet to be written)After lunch I headed back to the beach where a little bit of blue was poking through, so I wandered the length of Waikiki Beach, up to the pier and back down in front of all the lovely hotels. It was a lovely relaxing day, Mel wanted to lay by the pool, I know that can be relaxing, but I also knew I would only get bored, so we chose to go our separate ways today.
At the end of the day we met back up again for dinner, tonight we ate at a Paradiso Seafood & Grille at the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Centre where I ate the Lobster Fettuccine, and boy was it mouth-watering.
It was off to bed reasonably early tonight as we had a full day planned for tomorrow. Stay tuned, tomorrow is jammed packed full of fun and adventure.
