The Last Beach
...Finally, the next beach I pulled into was the one Mel was happy to go for a swim at; I call this beach, ‘The Last Beach’, because this was the last beach we stopped at today on our little drive. The ‘last beach’ was a lovely beach, here I went for a nice long walk, at one end were the remnants of a pier where I took a few photos, I also stopped to talk to a local man with two fishing rods stuck in the sand. He had had some luck already, with a beauty of a fish in his little esky (cooler) that he opened for me so I could take a photo of his lunch. After my walk along the beach, I went to sit with Mel on the sand, and after a while went into the water to body surf with all the little kids. I had a wonderful time swimming and watching the families playing together, kids getting dunked in the surf, with their father standing on the shore keeping a close eye on them in case they got into any trouble. This really is my idea of paradise. Not only a perfect beach, but also the locals having a wonderful time, enjoying time with their family, kids having fun, and kicking balls along the beach, and me there to enjoy it all. None of the beaches we visited today were as crowded as the ones in Australia would be, but also there were not too many tourists, well, none other than Mel and me...
