My mother applied to join tea ceremony party, and it fell on us! So my mother and I went to Kyoto to join the party. oh, we don't do tea ceremony:P It was on 23rd, and maple trees are at their best now, so it was good timing!
The tea ceremony party was hosted by Santory Iyemon. http://www.suntory.com/iyemon_cha/index.html
We could see Kyomai (Maiko dancing). and they did tea-serving manners.
after that, we could entered 'Gion-kaku' tower. This tower is in Daiunin temple. It was built by Kihachiro OKURA who was the oner of hotel Okura.Usually, it's not allowed enter there, but this time they opened the tower!! All around wall, there are copies of murals of Duhan.
The model of this tower was Yamaboko float of Gion festival. So it's called 'Gion'-kaku.
From the top of this tower we can see Kyoto town and mountains around Kyoto.
And we could take pictures with Maiko and Geiko.
After finish the party, we went to Heian jingu. There were many shichi-go-san children.
and we headed to Eikando. It's said 'momiji no Eikando'(Eikando of red leaves). There were many people, so we didn't enterd but we could see beautiful red leaves from outside:)
