visited this pearl of the Atlantic last year in september. It's a wonderful island with magnificent nature, nice friendly people, good food and flavoured by the portuguese culture! guided by dolphins on the atlantic, the capital Funchal, green valleys, thousands of flowers, a moon landscape in the east, the nice Madeira wine, this is something you must experience once in a lifetime. To me this has an everlasting good impression and i would always want to go back.

west-Madeira in one day

I got up early, took  a quick breakfast and then waited on the bus to drive me to Funchal. Here I would take another bus which would take me accross west-Madeira and hitting a few places along the way. As I'd only be here one week, I'd never get enough time to to a 'ground-research' on the entire island. Therefore a bus offered me a nice solution to visit the west that is so different than the south of Madeira.

The sun was already shining and the temperature started to rise, perfect! My second bus drove through Funchal and it appeared he followed the coast line but you know, up and down, left, right, u-turn, because that's Madeira's landscape. Guess what, along the way I saw a few churches. The little white red-roofed houses appeared again and loads of flowers and even some banana plants along the way made it a nice first ride. Eventually the bus stopped nearby a viewing point in the neighbourhood of Camara De Lobos.
