Arriving
We arrived at La Guardia around 2 New York Time. We got went through customs, which took 5 minutes because we got to do it in Nova Scotia before we left and then headed to the taxi stand. It took about 3 minutes to get one, even though there were about 35 people in front of us. I swear, speedy service is NYC Taxi Company’s middle name. Then we headed into the city. I thought it would take 1-2 hours because from my previous experience with getting into Manhattan, it wasn't an easy feat. Lucky enough, it only took about 35 minutes and I was super impressed, I wanted to give the cabby like a 50 dollar tip, but let's be honest, that's a little too much for what he did. We checked into our little hotel on 46th I believe it was and headed for shopping. When my mother and I and New York City and lots of money mix, we spend way too much money on the best New York has to offer. After shopping, we were supposed to go to see Grease, which was all my mother cared about on this trip, and it was cancelled due to the strike. So instead we headed to Times Square, got a bite to eat at Olive Garden and shopped for Christmas presents at Toys R Us and Virgin Megastore
