A shadow running through the trees, a growl of a jaguar, the pounding of rain beating down on my face, adrenaline coursing through my veins, I clutch my machete tighter and throw my bags to the ground. The guide disappears into the jungle and takes aim. The heat of the Amazon weighed down on me. During all of the commotion all I could think of is how I came about to be in this situation.

The Mysterious Visitor To My Hammock....Made An Interesting Breakfast

Seeing the sun creep its way through the jungle canopy was the most beautiful sight I have ever seen. I had survived. I had nothing to be afraid of.......

When I looked down I saw a massive tarantula sitting on my thigh looking as though he knew Irish people taste great thanks to the combination of potatos and Guinness! I was paralysed with fear. I didnt even have my banana to help anymore.

Thankfully Deuzimar had seen it before me. To this day I will never know how he did it but needless to say he caught it and myself and Simon no longer needed to worry about having fish for breakfast!! The spider surprisingly tasted nice but then again perhaps that was simply the sweet taste of irony seeing as that little spider wanted to eat me but now....
