A walk along the river...
May 28, 2008
One more park to go to before heading home...whew what a glorious morning. We got to Burnaby Fraser Foreshore Park and it was starting to warm up...making me very happy, love that sun and warm. It is a really cool little place to go for a walk. There were kids playing everywhere, men fishing and chatting, bikers riding, people and dogs walking...busy...busy...and all in and close to Vancouver...a place to escape and dream.
They call this park Burnaby's best and most scenic point of entry to the Historic Fraser River, which flows 1,400 KM from it's source high in the Rocky Mountains out to the Pacific Ocean.
The shoreline trail is great for jogging, walking, or a leisurely stroll. You can take a bench and relax and dream about far away places, or soak up the sun. There are three trails that take you inland, surrounded by wet brush lands, meadows, and tidal slough.
This park attracts fishers angling for Coho Salmon. Children play in the Priates of the Fraser River while exploring the pirate ship (huh I missed that).
You can pack a lunch, be lazy, fish, chat. There are picnic grounds songbirds, and resident squirrels.
It's a neat place for everyone...
Take one more walk with me, before I head for home.........
