He stunk early. Had to apply the deodorant for our sakes.
Colin, Eli, and Phil picked me up around 7:30 Sunday night.  Our goal was to see the U.S.  No timetable, no schedule.  Just go.  Go is exactly what we did.  We started off, heading up I-24 towards Nashville.  I drove through Tennessee and Kentucky.  Being familiar territory to me, I didn't need the map to navigate.....

::4 college kids, half of us graduated, half of us with a semester left.  Ill-planned (that was the point), ill-incomed (we were planning to live cheaply), but with soaring spirits about the whole excursion.  A break away from school, from the east, from the monotonous rhythm we had fallen into.  Yes, we had jobs to get back to, school to attend in the fall, errands to run, things to do.
And the finished product. Good collection, men.
But for one week (not planned at the time either), we were going to just go.  We had a map, but no indication of weather (would've been nice, as you'll see).  We had beans, corn, rice, and water, but no silverware.  And we sure as hell weren't going to shower for the week we were away.  Or shave.  This exodus consisted of the four of us not caring about much, except what we saw, and the experience we had seeing it all.::

......when we arrived in Cadiz, KY, the fun began.  It was Colin and Phil's idea to live off the land, so, naturally, we weren't going to buy firewood when we arrived (at some point) at a campsite.  So we went on a few backroads in Kentucky and found this creekbed with stores of dead wood, just lying around.  Armed with a hatchet and saw, we managed to get a sizeable amount of wood in the trunk with all our stuff.  We looked ridiculous doing it.  All part of the experience though, right?  Haha.

The driving rotation went as follows:  Colin, Me, Phil, then Eli.  After I had driven a good 4 hours, Phil took over and led us into St. Louis....oh....around 3am......

Admire your guts! Sometimes we have to just GO for traveling without thinking too much about it and just enjoy every experience we have along the way.

I'm glad you have a blast!
